The 100 word challenge is a great idea for creative writing for young people. In one of my pieces, the second one, It made the showcase which is the top grouping of about 1000 people. Doing this activity has improved my writing so much I can't believe it. This has been one of the most useful, fun, worth doing, improving, activity's that I have ever done over the 1 year and 2 months I have been with Mrs. Middleton.
The jagged stained teeth shimmer in the moonlight, when I was creeping around like an unwanted shadow, through the ancient cob web coated haunted house. I peak around the corner. “Creaaaak!” screeched the door, foolish teenagers have entered the fear struck mansion. They must disperse. I hurry over. Soaring so no soul can here. Gliding like an eagle stalking his prey. “What was that?” he questions clueless, I snatch some human flesh, “VAMPIRE BAT!” they burst out. Spooked, they scatter helplessly. They won’t be coming back.
Scurrying across rough shingles, I come across a gaping hole. I need to get off this roof. I scramble my way down. “Woah!” I open my eyes to find myself diving in to the endless tunnel or “Chimney” as humans say.Slowly the sky got darker. It’s like a giant stood in front of the sun. My life flashes before me. It’s true, “Life is like a box of chocolates.” I’m almost at ground level when a question occurred. Is fire lit? “Thud!” Am I alive? Whiskers? Check, Tail? Check! I hear footsteps. I’ve got to get out of here. The humans are coming.
